EASY CHAIR Vanco Vinyl LP1004 HOLY GRAIL '60s SEATTLE PSYCH Jeff Simmons - Zappa

THIS AUCTION LOT CONSISTS OF: One original 1968 pressing of the mega-rare psychedelic Easy Chair 12" EP.  Recorded in Vancouver, Washington, and released on the studio's own label, Vanco Records. This record was reportedly pressed in a limited run of 200 or 300 copies - and they were all sold in a plain paper sleeve - as seen here - rather than a hard cardboard jacket. This unit was just acquired from the estate of a hippie housemate of the band when they lived together in an old mansion on Seattle's  Capitol Hill. Easy Chair were "discovered" by Frank Zappa when they opened a concert for his band, the Mothers of Invention, and he ended up poaching the bassist Jeff Simmons and recruiting him into the Mothers for a couple years. Although this music has been reissued a couple times in Europe, this is the real deal original!  [Note: We have seen a total of two copies of this rarity in 50+ years of collecting and selling records.]

CONDITION: As seen, the label shows some aging, and the former owner's name written in ink. The vinyl has lots of micro-abrasions - and surface pops and ticks can be expected when playing.
