The best band to come from Liverpool this side of The Beatles, 'Killing Time' hitmakers Echo and The Bunnymen have one of the most decorated back catalogues of any guitar band of the past half a century. Ill content to rest on past glories, Ian McCulloch and co. are back with their first album of newly-written material in 12 years (2014's Meteorites being the last). The release is bittersweet given that Clem Burke of Blondie, who is on drums for ten of the 11 tracks sadly passed away during the making of the record. The band are on striking form with lead single 'Brussels Is Haunted' sounding like an instant classic and perfect for their live set. Well worth the 12 year wait given they're reaching these heights with their songs.
