ECLIPSE - Eclipsed (Baal BAL89005) - LP - 1978
Tracks: Visions, Jah Can't Fail I, Let Jah Be The One, Six Dead, Corrupted Society, Come Me Brethren, Eclipse, Immigration.
Nicely presented original pressing of Eclipse's sought-after Sydney Crooks-produced Eclipsed LP, released in 1978 on the Baal label. Obscure, H-E-A-V-Y roots from the band that hailed from Handsworth, Birmingham. The vinyl retains a good / very good sheen with some light superficial surface marks and a few fine, light hairlines - nothing significant - see descriptions below and check-out the soundclip. Both sides play very nicely indeed.
A-side: There is a tiny amount of intermittent background surface noise with tiny and some very small pops and clicks plus an occasional slightly more prominent one. Labels: The A-side label is pristine (see scan), while there are small ticks against one of the tracks on the B-side label.
Sleeve: The sleeve has, in the past, been rather crudely taped along the spine and top and bottom edges. The tape has left staining that extends 2cm (back) / 3cm (front) in from the top edge, 2.5cm (back) / 2cm (front) in from the bottom edge, and 2.5cm (back) / 5.5cm (front) in from the spine. There is wear to the edges and corners, creasing, some scuffing along the top edge and a 3cm x 6cm area of damage along the spine on the front cover. In addition, there is some writing on the front, with a little on the back also (see scan).
