Description
A great opportunity to buy a copy of a VINYL LP from the 1950's by Eddie Cochran called "Singin' To My Baby". This was his first LP and is the issue without laminate on the rear cover.
This is an English pressing originally from 1958 issued on the London (plum) label (HA-U 2093). It has a total of 15 tracks. It is believed this copy is a fourth pressing, all within the period 1958 to 1960.
The matrix numbers are:- AXL-768-1B (side one) and AXL-769-1B (side two).
The vinyl is in a GOOD condition. I always grade and examine records under a bright table lamp and there are many scuffs and other surface marks noticeable, but nothing too serious. I have played the whole of both sides and there are the occasional clicks evident in places, particularly between the tracks, but it doesn't jump or stick and overall it plays remarkably well and sounds much better than you would expect from its appearance.
The labels are completely clean and free from any writing or major defects.
The record is housed within an original company poly-lined inner sleeve in an EXCELLENT condition.
The laminated flip-back picture cover is in a GOOD condition. There is minor wear at the 4 corners and some creasing along the opening edge. The other edges and spine have some sign of shelf wear in places and there is a hint of ring-wear noticeable. The back cover is not laminated apart from the flipbacks and is reasonably clean considering its age. The flipback has a printing date of May 1960, which is shortly after his death and would indicate this was a further issue made to cope with the sudden surge in demand.
Despite the overall condition, this is a very RARE and collectable Rock 'n' Roll album from the late 50's period and should be of great interest to avid collectors.
