The Philosopher's Journey LP
(Pan Records, 1987)
2nd solo LP by Sun City Girls pal Eddy Detroit. Released on his own privat Pan label (has anybody ever seen the original of his "Mephisto Cigar" 7" on Pan??) It's a real people outsider psych record with noticable eastern vibes (Detroit plays Arabic Drum and Bongos) not unlike John Berberian. The acoustic guitar wizardery of Alan Bishop (SCGs) lifts the LP on a whole new level of lysergic proportions. The Pan releases have been hard to get right from the start, they are next to impossible to track down at this late date.
I am getting rid of parts of my record collection, so please see my other auctions for more indie/avant/pop/etc.pp.!

Sleeve: wrap-around sleeve shows some age-coloration at the left, otherwise EX+
