I have several early Edison diamond disc records listed this week... some early jazz, vaudeville, hokum comedy and mountain music. A very interesting selection of early Americana. They are all in very nice playable condition. They appear to have always been played with a diamond disc player and not a steel needle player. The grooves all look very nice. They have excellent fidelity and play very well on my turntable with my special 78 stylus. I do not have a diamond disc player so I can not tell you how they would sound on original equipment. They all have the typical light to moderate amount of surface noise which is to be expected with discs in the 100 year old range. Some have some edge nicks and a few have some deep scratches. These flaws will all show in my photos for each record. I would play grade all of them in the VG to VG+ range.
