Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:  
TITLE/ARTIST: "Facade" by Edith Sitwell and William Walton on the Columbia Records label (ML 2047) in original MONO sound from 1949. 
CONDITION OF VINYL: Near Mint(Vinyl glows with vitality - graded visually using special daylight-balanced spotlight). CONDITION OF JACKET: Excellent(Jacket has light corner/age/edge/rub wear; there is transparent tape across most of the bottom seam; there is a small split at top opening; cover is unmarked and spectacular - please see photos of the actual item offered for sale).
SPECIAL FEATURES: This is our idea of a wonderful Jim Flora 10" album cover. One of the rarest of Flora's covers (just how many people actually BOUGHT Edith Sitwell reading poetry in 1949?), this is also one of the earliest Columbia Long Players, before the concept jumped to the 12" record size. Thus, a very collectible and delicious record, with cover fonts and images that would set a course for designers for decades to come. Don't miss this jewel.

OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any LP and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the vinyl has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction; jacket may be lightly worn, slightly dinged, even very lightly split, but NEVER trashed); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
