E.E. Ghost and Friends - Signed/Inscribed Private Press LP  with Original Handwritten Musical Manuscripts
The LP: “E.E. Ghost and Friends” - private press mono LP on Psi-Chord Studios, Vancouver, B.C. with cover design by D. LaFleur.
Artist inscription: The back cover is personally inscribed “For Gary” [Gary Aston Lundell - University of Washington Archivist] and signed by E.E. Ghost, with an original hand-drawn pen illustration of a figure reclining and playing flute, with musical notes floating upward.
Handwritten musical manuscripts (each shown in photos): Original pen-and-ink music theory notes and compositional workings in the same hand as the inscription – chord theory, key signatures, scales, melodies, and circle of fifths/fourths diagrams. Several pages feature the same distinctive whimsical doodle style seen in the inscription (playful figures, flute players, psychedelic abstractions). These appear to be Ghost’s personal working notes or teaching maybe teaching materials? 
These have NOT been formally authenticated but were found together with the LP itself, in the estate belonging to Gary Aston Lundell.

About E.E. Ghost: Eric Ghost was the performing name of Richard Barth Sanders (1941-2006), a deeply obscure psychedelic jazz flutist and contemporary of Jeremy Steig. His entire known discography consists of just three total recordings, all made at Psi-Chord Studios in Vancouver:
E.E. Ghost and Friends (c. 1973-74) – this record Ghost Plays For Mr. S. (1974, Gramophone G1001) Secret Sauce (1975, also Gramophone I believe - reissued in 2022 by Jazz Room Records to widespread acclaim)

The musicians who played on Ghost’s sessions included Bob Murphy, Jim McGilveray, Tom Hazlitt, and a young Lincoln Goines making his studio debut. Ghost’s sound sits at the intersection of spiritual jazz, jazz-funk, and psychedelia – flute-led, exploratory, and deeply soulful.
Ghost is also a figure of significant American counterculture history, known for his role in the manufacture and distribution of LSD in the 1970s. He was convicted and served federal time before disappearing from public life until his death in 2006. The Jazz Room Records reissue of Secret Sauce in 2022 brought renewed collector and critical attention to his music.
Provenance: This record and the accompanying manuscripts came from the estate of Gary Aston Lundell, a reference specialist at the University of Washington Archives in Seattle for nearly 40 years (c. 1972-2010s). Lundell was a former student of the renowned anthropologist Melville Jacobs and spent decades as the steward of the Jacobs Collection of Pacific Northwest Native American oral traditions.
The personal inscription to “Gary” and the presence of Ghost’s handwritten music materials together in Lundell’s estate document a personal connection between the two men in the tight-knit Vancouver-Seattle cultural corridor of the 1970s.
