Eilert Ove Thelin ( 1938 - 1990) was an innovative Swedish trombonist, widely admired among fellow trombonists for his facile technique and rhythmic intensity. He was, perhaps, the first jazz trombonist to translate that technique into the so-called "sheets of sound" style that characterized much of the music of tenor saxophonist John Coltrane and, in general, Free Jazz of the late 1960s and 1970s.
Bits & Pieces was recorded off and on between December 14th, 1979 and August 1st, 1980. Featured players are Gustavo Begalli (tp), Ulf Andersson (fl/afl), Eje Thelin (trb), Harald Svensson (p), Bronislaw Suchanek (b), Henrik Wartel (dr), Håkan Broström (as), Arne Löthman (g), Steve Dobrogosz (p) and Malando Gassama (pc).
Original Swedish pressing; both Sleeve and Vinyl are in Excellent condition!
