Description

This sale is for a copy of "Ella Sings Gershwin" by Ella Fitzgerald. This is from 1957 (1st pressing) on Decca DL-8378 in mono (black labels). The players are Ella Fitzgerald (vocals), Ellis Larkins (piano) & an assit by Duke Ellington & Jimmy McHugh. The songs are "Someone To Watch Over Me", "My One & Only (What Am I Gonna Do)", "But Not For Me", "Looking For A Boy", "Nice Work If You Can Get It", "Oh, Lady Be Good", "I've Got A Crush On You", "How Long Has This Been Going On", "Maybe", "Soon", "I'm Just A Lucky So & So" & "I Didn't Mean A Word I Said".

Super nice!

Make sure to check out the photos below because they tell the story.

Condition

  • Cover : The cover is in VG+ condition with light yellowing from age, a few scratches & light fading on the front slick, a lightly creased corner & 2 small prices in pencil on the back. This is very nice with solid seams & square corners. *****PLEASE NOTE***** In the photo below, the spot at the bottom of the cover is from the flash of my camera. This is NOT on the cover. Flash only.

  • Vinyl : The vinyl shines like new with all of its original gloss & is in VG++ condition on both sides with a few very light surface scuffs/hairlines (nothing that you can feel). Judging from the labels this has probably only been played a couple of times at the most.

  • Labels : The labels are in NM- condition.
