Description

ELLIOTT SMITH XO - ORIGINAL UK BONG LOAD PRESS (BL 35) 1998 - COMPLETE w/LYRIC INSERT

This is a 1998 US Bong Load Records (BL 35) first UK press of Elliott Smiths amazing fourth LP ‘XO’

His last ‘indie’ LP before signing to a major label. 2013 marks the 10th anniversary of Elliott’s untimely demise and there are talks of a second movie being released (Heaven adores you) Elliott Smith fans are hardcore (trust me I am one) and they are true believers, and there will be many that come and jump the bandwagon in the next 12 months and as much as all are welcome, you now have an opportunity to get in before the prices go sky high and invest (and I mean that) in this rare and beautiful artifact.

The vinyl has the faintest of hairlines in places but is in excellent condition, it would benefit from a clean as its been in storage for the last 10+ years but that’s purely cosmetic, record plays through with no skips or jumps, very slight background noise in the first bars of the first track (cleaning will get rid of that) and the cover is in great shape, very slight creasing to the top right of the front cover but barely noticeable unless scrutinised. Back cover and spine are in great shape and the lyric sheet has barely been touched, it shows some wear from the record being removed and replaced but overall this record is in fantastic condition.

I want to bid on this myself, I have no idea what it is worth, I have seen copies of this go from $30 to $100+ there seems to be no rhyme or reason for this fluctuation but what I do know is it is rare, very rare and especially in such superb condition, only 2 copies of this press were listed in the whole of last year and with the anniversary of his death approaching I can’t see many more being listed apart from at stupidly inflated ‘cash-in’ prices, I’m not down with shit like that, this is up for 99p with no reserve, a chance for a true fan to complete their collection in style.

I have a copy of Either/Or up for grabs also, please check my other items.

This month’s offering is a cache of records I've been asked to sell for a dear friend, to be brutally honest I just wanted to give him a few hundred quid and keep them! but we're both in the same boat and we both need money so you lucky lot get to reap the rewards.

As always, my auctions start at 99p with no reserve which considering the rarity of some of these records seems a crazy thing to do, but they are only worth what you are prepared to pay for them, so again it works in your favour! All records will be sent in professional vinyl record envelopes.

Check my other items if you like what you see here and add me as a favourite seller as there’s much, much more to come.

As these aren't my records I haven't play graded them all, If there has been a noticeable mark I have listened to that track but I have however scrutinised the f**k out of them and have listed any flaws or imperfections however minor, I have 100% positive feedback as a seller and I intend to keep it that way so please bid with confidence and feel free to ask any questions.
