You are bidding on "CRY FOR ME BABY and "TAKE ME WHERE YOU GO" by famous blues singer and guitarist ELMORE JAMES and His Broomdusters.
Recorded in Chicago in October, 1957 with Eddie Taylor on guitar (Jimmy Reed's side man), J.T. Brown on tenor sax, Syl Johnson on guitar, Fred Below on drums and the ever present Willie Dixon on bass.
I always wondered if this was recorded in a bar since there is so much background talking. Maybe just my imagination.
This appears to be the original release as it was re-released later on VeeJay in 1958.
"Cry For Me Baby" is an up tempo blues with a superb guitar break by Elmore. This is one of the few up tempo blues records I like. It has a rock n' roll beat.
One of my favorite Chicago blues records. I'm not a record dealer, but am getting up in years and am starting to sell my small collection, as my children and grandchildren are not interested.
I bought this record new in the spring of 1961 at Rose Record Store on Wabash Avenue in the Chicago Loop. They were cleaning out their 45 rpm files and had thousands of 45s for sale at six for a dollar. I bought lots of Blues, R&B and R&R, many of which I had never heard. This was one of them.
Condition: Very light wear on Cry For Me. There's a light scuff across the grooves on Take Me Where. Note the black "S" on Take Me Where. I would call this a Very Good +
