Description
These items are from my personal collection, accumulated over a 55-year period. This lot contains both records and sleeves. The sleeves have been stored without the records since my original purchase at the time of their release. Records and sleeves are visually graded, by me, based on Goldmine grading standards. I try to grade conservatively.
1. Electric Light Orchestra - Telephone Line/Poorboy (The Greenwood) (US, Record/Picture Sleeve, Translucent Green Vinyl, United Artists, UA-XW1000). Sleeve is graded VG+, with some light wrinkling around the edges. Record has never been played and is graded M-.
2. Electric Light Orchestra - Sweet Talkin' Woman/Fire On High (US, Record/Picture Sleeve, Translucent Purple Vinyl, Jet Records, JT-XW1145). Sleeve is graded VG- due to some sticker adhesive residue on the front and evidence of outer-ring "presence". Record has never been played and is graded Excellent, with a couple of very light scratches.
3. Electric Light Orchestra - Can't Get It Out of My Head (Stereo)/Can't Get It Out of My Head (Mono) (US, Record/Picture Sleeve, PROMO, United Artists, UA-XW573-X). This is the commercial sleeve, but with the PROMO record. Sleeve is graded G+ due to a piece missing in the upper right-hand corner, evidence of outer-ring "presence", and evidence of inner-ring "presence" with a slight scuff. The Record is graded VG+ on the stereo side with one small scuff, and Excellent on the mono side.
4. Electric Light Orchestra - Strange Magic (Stereo)/Strange Magic (Mono) (US, Record/Picture Sleeve, PROMO, United Artists, UA-XW770-Y). This is the commercial sleeve, but with the PROMO record. Sleeve is graded VG, with evidence of outer-ring "presence". Record is graded VG+ on the stereo side, with a couple of light scratches, and Excellent on the mono side.
5. Electric Light Orchestra - Turn to Stone/Mister Kingdom (US, Picture Sleeve Only, Jet Records, JT-XW1099). Sleeve is graded VG+, with some evidence of outer-ring "presence".
6. Electric Light Orchestra - Shine a Little Love (US, Picture Sleeve Only, Jet Records, ZS8-5057). Sleeve is graded VG+, with some evidence of inner/outer-ring "presence".
The auction starting price is set to primarily cover postage and insurance. I believe in the free market system. My main interest is in getting these items into the hands of a serious collector. The law of supply and demand will take care of the rest.
