THE ELSIE BIANCHI TRIO - I´ll Take Romance / I Got It Bad / Big Daddy / You´re Driving Me Crazy Switzerland - Disco-Ton AL 1937, 1962, Switzerland
Up for auction is an exceptionally nice copy of the extremely rare ELSIE BIANCHI TRIO 7" EP on the tiny DISCO-TON (Swiss-Record) Studiolabel from Basel, Switzerland.
This is one of the rarest European Jazz records. According to some sources, there were only around 100 Copies of this EP ever made and they were used for promotion only. This was recorded on a Nagra III at the Café Atlantis, as the back cover states. This record was released in 1962 and is - according to some collectors - even rarer than Elsie's 10" LP from the Atlantis. If anyone has a copy of Elsie's 10" LP, please contact me, as I am looking for a copy to add to my collection.
The front cover picture was taken at the famous Seiler´s Coffee Atlantis in Basel, Switzerland and feautures an "on scene" b/w shot of Elsie at the micro (she is an accomplished piano player as well!), her husband Siro Bianchi on bass and drummer Fritz "Shorty" Stähli.
Condition: The glossy picture cover is in PERFECT M- condition! Record is also in really nice condition, I would grade this as NM, only slight and very superficial signs of having played.
The labels are in M- condition.
