Artist:  ELTON GUMBEL, JR. & KEITH LEATHERS

Title:   “Observations”

Label:   UNDERCURRENT RECORDS.  Stereo pressing on medium weight vinyl.   Label is light blue with black text.  Catalog number is UC-1313.

Year:  1982.

Personnel:

Elton Gumbel, Jr. – piano, vocals.

Keith Leathers – bass, background vocals & log drum on “River Nile”, acoustic guitar on “Marietta”.

NOTE:  This came from a large collection stored for many years by an individual associated with the radio station at a historically black university back in the mid 1970s-early ’80s.  Most appear to have been sampled once, or appear unplayed.  Guaranteed to be original and not a modern repro.  I will be listing additional albums from this collection in the coming weeks, so please check back for additional rare titles.

Condition:

DISC:  Vinyl is NEAR MINT with 100% of original gloss, as clean as can be found.  Appears to have been played one or two times at most, and handled with care.  Labels are clean.  Fidelity is superb.  A gorgeous disc you will never need to upgrade.

JACKET:  Jacket is VG+ with no major problems.  Panels show some very light ring and surface wear.  Top seam and corners show some wear.  The jacket has some noticeable creasing at the top right and bottom left.  No writing, stickers or cut-out indications.  Overall a very presentable jacket to accompany the nice disc.

• Act of Defiance
