MEGARARE original DJM Records very first STEREO press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1976 by DISCOS BANGLAD (Banglad Records), catalog number LP DJ-55, with hand etched matrix numbers LP-DJ-55-A EB-CC in Side A and LP-DJ-55-A EB-CC in Side B, with tricolor/black Banglad/DJM Records labels. It’s very interesting to notice that in the deadwax of both sides it’s written the exact day of pressing, “16-I-76” (January 16th of 1976). Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND of Elton John from Chile!!!

“MICHELLE’S SONG” is an exclusive compilation album released only in Chile in 1976 The cover is UNIQUE, a flipback cover made of 2 laminated pieces of thin cardboard, with front cover pasted on the flips of back cover. Front cover has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, with a picture of actress Anicée Alvina, “Michelle”, in movie “Friends”, with tracklist written in Spanish only, except “Where To Now St. Peter”, written in English only in back cover and label, and Banglad Record logo and catalog number at bottom right edge. In labels the album title and tracklist are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters. The tracklist in this MEGARARE EXCLUSIVE COMPILATION ALBUM by Elton John for Chilean market is:

It’s very interesting to notice some errors, the song “Where To Now St. Peter” is misspelled in both back cover and label “Where To KNOW St. Peter”. The song “Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters” is translated as “MONA LISA Y LOS SOMBREREROS” in back cover and “MONA LISA Y LOS SOMBREREROS LOCOS” in label. And song “Hymn 2000” is translated “HIMNO DEL AÑO 2000” in back cover and “HIMNO DEL AÑO 2.000” in label. So, here you have a great chance to get this UNIQUE COMPILATION ALBUM by Elton John with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, UNIQUE TRACKLIST and UNIQUE ERRORS, which you will only find in this Chilean issue!!! WOW!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in absolute EX or EX+ condition, clean and clear, some wear in the corners, with light creases and light ring marks in back cover, no blemishes, lamination solid and complete with not even seam splits. The record is in strong EX+ or NM- condition the Side A, glossy and clean, with light scuffs and hairlines, hard to see at first sight, and in VG+ or EX- condition the Side B, glossy and clean like Side A, but with 2 scratches in the songs “Salvation” and “House Of Cards”, which of course don’t affect play at all. Labels are in absolute EX or EX+ both sides, with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in strong EX or EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with some very occasional light crackles here and there, more evident in the silent parts, and some soft ticks in the song “Salvation”, caused for the scratch already informed, which of course don’t really cause a major distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, most of songs play in stunning NM condition. Overall, a great record with a really nice look, almost immaculate labels and superb sound quality after almost 40 years. A MUST TO HAVE for all Elton John fans and collectors!!! Don’t forget the UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, UNIQUE TRACKLIST and UNIQUE ERRORS!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for.
