This is the rare UK 1st press of ‘Don’t Shoot Me’ by Elton John. This earliest press is complete with the very earliest and true 1st A2/B2 matrix, with Agong and Bang! hand engraved in the run-out on both sides. The vinyl is translucent red when held to the light. The vinyl is complete with the inner booklet, the 1st press plain inner sleeve and laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve. However as mentioned above this LP also includes a letter from the publisher Dick James Music and individual sheets of music for every track. The letter is promoting the music to EMI ‘I hope that you might find a few of the songs suitable for some of your artists’
The record is in Excellent condition. The vinyl is superb, extremely glossy, every track looks superb, there are just a couple of the very lightest marks. The label is bold and clean with vivid colours, bright text and no spindle wear.
The booklet is in Near Mint condition.
The record sits completely flat on the turntable and when played the sound quality is Excellent. The vinyl plays through exceptionally clear and bright. Very rich, bold sound from start to finish.
The 1st press Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve is in Excellent condition. The image is superb, the colours are vivid and it is sharp and completely unworn. The edges are extremely firm, the only tiniest detail is the slightest laminate crease in the corner, but this is insignificant this sleeve is sensational. The inside is perfect and the spine is firm with clear, sharp text.
