This is the rare UK 1st press of ‘Honky Chateau’ by Elton John. This earliest press is complete with the very earliest and true 1st A2/B2 matrix, with Babil and Rasputin hand engraved in the run-out. The vinyl is translucent red when held to the light and the label has the wide rim around the outside. The vinyl is complete with the original inner sleeve and Garrod & Lofthouse envelope style textured sleeve.
The record is in Very Good condition. The vinyl is extremely glossy, with the original deep clear grooves. There are one or two light marks but these have just a little affect on play. The label is jet black with bright yellow text and a little spindle wear.
The record sits completely flat on the turntable and when played the sound quality is rich and vibrant. There are a couple of moments of noise by there is still Excellent audio separation and it plays clear from start to finish. 
The 1st press envelope style sleeve is in Excellent condition. The picture is entirely unworn and the cream is extremely bright. There is the slightest corner and edge wear. The inside is superb and the inner folding edge is firm without wear. The whole sleeve is very solid and the spine is firm with clear text.  625 (GS 6.9.7 (625))
