Elton John ?– Madman Across The Water

This record is in excellent condition. It has spindle marks visible on the labels but no pen marks, scuffs, fading or staining anywhere. The centres show minimal wear, are not loose or worn and overall the labels are clean, bright and in good shape.

As for the vinyl itself, both sides have nothing deep or really serious showing but there is the odd light surface line and minor sleeve mark showing in normal light. These occasional faint light surface lines are very minor but are a sign of use and do show with a few more under bright light. So overall the record is in good shape with no nasty scuffs or serious marks and a lovely lustre(shines ruby red under very bright light). It does have some light signs of use and age however.

I play tested the record and it played very well for the vast majority with nice clear audio and minimal interference or surface noise. It lays flat on the deck and upon playing there is little to no arm movement noticeable. The audio is excellent for the vast majority as I say ans has no skips or sticks. There is also only very minimal amounts of surface noise audible, even in the very mellow parts. It does however have 8-10 very faint ticks around 45-60secs into track 1 on side 2. These are very light but can be heard as they occur in a really mellow part of the track. Other than these there is then 3-4 incredibly faint ticks between tracks 1 and 2 on side 2. Other than these two light and brief periods of interference the audio is a strong excellent with no other such issues and minimal surface noise. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the whole album and despite the brief light ticks in track 1(side 2) as mentioned the audio still does this classic album justice.

The textured gatefold sleeve is in very good+ condition. It has some rubbing and wear to the edges and corners but the writing along the spine is still just about legible. The worst of the rubbing is found on the bottom edges where the majority of the paint on these edges has been removed. Despite these edges and all the others are still strong and there are no splits  anywhere. There is also no tears but there is a pen mark on the rear in the top right corner and also a small dent or scuff in the opposite top left corner. Other than these issues there is little to report. There is some very light ring marks showing in parts and a hint of fading in places but nothing extreme and overall the sleeve still looks tidy all round. Inside the gatefold has its booklet firmly attached and there is no major issues to report. Overall a solid sleeve but one that has some age related wear/rubbing and the small dent as mentioned. I have tried to describe the sleeve as best I can but please study the pictures provided to gain as much information as possible as to its condition.

It includes its original plain white inner which is in very good+ condition. This has no tears, splits or pen marks but does have some age related discolouring/grubbiness and creasing to it. I will therefore send the record in a brand new plain white replacement to ensure the record remains clean and fresh.

The record will be packaged in cardboard stiffeners and bubble wrapped thoroughly when dispatched. It will also be sent in a brand new protective plastic sleeve, and within 24hrs of receiving payment to try to ensure a swift delivery.
