ELTON JOHN MADMAN ACROSS THE WATER ORIGINAL UK 1971 DJM PURPLE TRANSLUCENT VINYL LP A2 / B4 'RASPUTIN' SECOND PRESS - RARE!
Vinyl EX condition - very few plays - a couple of light non-feelable scuffs only A2 / B4 matrices with "Rasputin" engineer name etched on S1 runout indicating the best and most sought-after early pressing
A really top example of this classic early Elton John LP - sounds superb - deep, rich second press audio!
The black vinyl is translucent / marbled PURPLE when held to the light - making this a super rare and collectible edition of this iconic LP .
Later pressings were simply black vinyl.
And this Purple variant is even harder to find than the usual Red early ones.
The fully textured 'denim effect' Gatefold cover printed by Garrard & Lofthouse is in EX condition with just a few light corner scuffs commensurate with age.
The textured sleeve was only issued with the very early pressings.
The lightly textured illustrated booklet is fully attached and also in EX condition
Vinyl is housed in the original generic off white inner sleeve VG+

Due to a house move I am reluctantly downsizing my large collection of vinyl LPs - mostly bought at the time of release and have had minimal play as I taped them back in the day and listened mainly on cassettes. I always tried to buy the earliest pressings and made sure all the extras, inserts, booklets, limited edition covers etc were included.
Stored upright in a dust and pet free environment they are now ready to move on to a new collection.
