ELTON JOHN MADMAN ACROSS THE WATER ORIGINAL UK 1971 DJM TRANSLUCENT RED VINYL 1ST PRESS A1/B4 EX/ EX+ RARE!
A really outstanding copy of Elton John's classic 1971 LP with all the correct 1st UK Press elements:
The black vinyl is translucent red when held to the light - making this a very rare and collectible edition of this iconic record . Later pressings were simply black vinyl.
The heavy vinyl is etched with A1/ H / AB / B4 first press matrices in the runouts with the etched signature of 'Rasputin' on side 2 - identifying this as the very first and finest mastering of this LP
Vinyl is EX condition - very few plays, a couple of very minor non-feelable scuffs only and a few very light moments of surface between tracks and quieter passages. Overall - sounds really superb! Deep full, rich audio! This is widely considered to be THE pressing to own.
The fully textured inside and out 'denim effect' Gatefold sleeve printed by Garrod & Lofthouse is in a superb EX+ condition. Solid, clear spine, with just a few very small corner dings commensurate with age.
One of the finest examples of this outstanding and complex sleeve you could find.
The fully textured sleeve was only issued with the first pressings.
The booklet is EX and fully attached with just the very lightest pulling on the top staple
Vinyl is housed in the original generic off white inner sleeve VG+

Due to a house move I am reluctantly downsizing my large collection of vinyl LPs - mostly bought at the time of release and have had minimal play as I taped them back in the day and listened mainly on cassettes. I always tried to buy the earliest pressings and made sure all the extras, inserts, booklets, limited edition covers etc were included.
Stored upright in a dust and pet free environment they are now ready to move on to a new collection.
