Description
This is an exceedingly rare highly collectible record that is one of only 1,000 ever to have been pressed. It is unknown how many are still in existence 44 years later! This is a promo record sent by Paramount to larger American Radio stations so that it would sound to listeners as though the chosen DJ was actually interviewing him live in person! The Dj could prepare how he or she wanted to word questions to fit around prerecorded answers. Elton gives a very impressive interview talking very candidly about his early rise to fame in the states etc. He also introduces songs from the Friends film soundtrack. This was recorded in 1971. Elton takes pauses in between answers to allow the interviewing DJ to ask his questions. This particular record came into my collection via a close friend who worked at the radio station that this promo came from, KMET in Los Angeles, California. This station sadly closed in February 1987 but was Legendary in its time. The EXTRAORDINARY thing about this is that the record has the ORIGINAL list of questions asked back in 1971 by KMETs interviewing DJ. Most of these records have been lost or destroyed and to find one that not only has a MINT record but Also the real list of the questions with hand writing and edits is UNHEARD OF.
