Description
Offering is original owner’s Elvis Presley, released July 113, 1956, 1st Pressing, RCA 45 RPM single “Hound Dog / Don’t Be Cruel”. This record was issued with two (2) sleeve variations. Each sleeve lists one of the songs first. The offered record’s sleeve is the rarer, more sought after, having “Don’t Be Cruel” being at the top, in larger font. Specific descriptions are as follows:
· Vinyl Record: Condition: VG+ - Seldom played, has no scratches or feelable marks. Vinyl has retained much of its gloss. The vintage black and silver RCA logo labels are in VG+ / EX condition with minimal to no spindle wear. The labels have no stains, or discolorations. “Hound Dog” (1) label has a faint 1” diagonal paper crease running through the “C” in “Victor” and logo dog Nipper’s head; (2) one scruff mark (1/8”) and two 1/8” faint scratches. “Don’t Be Cruel” label is pristine, with no scruffs, scratches, creases or other imperfections.
· Original RCA B&W Paper Sleeve: Has no folds, creases, edge tears or seam splits. Specifically:
Front Cover: Condition: VG+/EX. - has retained 100% of its original, rich B&W production color. There are no markings, tears, side splits, stains, or discoloration. It has very minimal age toning along the very white top area.
Back Cover: Condition: VG+ - has retained 100% of its original, rich B&W production color. There are no markings, tears, side splits, stains, or discoloration. Minimal, vertical age toning (1.5”) along the right, lower corner. There is a 1/8” puncture hole below Elvis’ sideburn.

Purchased Summer 1956 at The House of Music, New Rochelle, NY. Always stored upright, kept in dry, non-smoking homes.
