This unique Promo Only LP was pressed for the sole purpose of advertising Elvis’ “Almost Blue” album in 1981. Intended to be used by DJs to introduce any or all cuts on the album, each musical performance here is preceded by Elvis providing information about the recording or how he came to discover the songs and the artists who inspired him to record them and make the album. There was a U.S. PROMO ONLY counterpart of this release that came with a generic black sleeve, unlike this British Fbeat Promo which contains photos and personal autographs by Elvis and the Attractions. Mentioned by Elvis are George Jones, Gram Parsons, producer Billy Sherrill, Don Gibson, Charlie Rich, Charles Aznavour and even Elvis as Dean Martin! The LP sleeve is a generic white wrapper with pasted on front and rear slicks. A serial number is noted on the front cover, 000694, above illustrations and reproductions of autographs of Elvis, Pete Thomas, Steve Neive and Bruce Thomas.

All vinyl records from VinylKing46 (eBay’s ORIGINAL VINYLKING) are pre-cleaned and inserted into paper inner sleeves before mailing to Buyer (unless factory sealed). Discs are packaged separately from LP sleeve to protect against seam splitting (unless factory sealed). LP jackets are inserted into mylar outer sleeves and albums are shipped in LP-specific boxes and packed with bubble wrap.

I grade conservatively and by Goldmine standards. All gradings are visual.
