This is a very rare piece of Elvis music. It is from my personal collection and for the serious collector. Issued in 1956, this is a boxed set of eight (7") extended play (EP) 45's given as a souvenir to attendees at the Miami Meeting, June 1956. The records have a gray label with "dog-on-top". Each side is numbered (1 thru 16). On the back side of the first record (side 16) is one song by ELVIS PRESLEY. The song is HEARTBREAK HOTEL. The box is "White & Gold" with "Black" print on the front only. Between each record is a "paper separator" (a total of nine). Also included is a "4-page" insert. The back page lists the record side number (1-16), the year of the song and the song title with the artist. The songs are from 1907 thru 1956 and total 32.

Condition is as follows: BOX is hinged on the left. The Hinge is intact (no tears). In the bottom of the box is stamped "inspected by 41". There is a small crease at the top left front about 1/2" down from the top and extending across the top of the "logo". The back or bottom of the box has some minor scratches and scuffs thru normal wear and tear. The edges of the box show the same wear and tear. Overall, I would say that the condition of the box is VG+. INSERTS The "4-page" insert is folded a little crooked - running from 1/16" to 1/8". There is a small spot at the fold in the left margin on the front. Inside, the next to the last paragraph says, " By the end of 1955 teen-agers were swaying to a kind of music comparatively new to records but old as rhythm itself with its strongly accentuated first and third beats. They call this "Rock and Roll Music". Psychiatrists and symphony conductors have tried to explain it, with feeble success. RCA Victor, alert to a new challenge in the ever-changing pattern taste of music, responded quickly. In the first four months of 1956, three RCA Victor records reached the golden million mark -- Kay Starr's Rock and Roll Waltz; Perry Como's Hot Diggity; and Heartbreak Hotel, a disc by a bright new star, 21-year-old Elvis Presley." The "paper separators" are: 1 - Form 3K693; 2 - 45 EP-RS; Insert-1, 3-45 EP-RS; Insert-2 and 3 45 EP-POP; Insert-1 (9 total). Overall, I would say that the condition of the inserts is M-. RECORDS Record 1 (sides 1 and 16) - Side 1 has some minor scuffs and one minor scratch. The matrix no# stamped in the wax is G2N H3710-1S. Side 16 (the Elvis side) has five minor scratches and three noticeable scratches (with a fingernail). The matrix no# stamped in the wax is G2N H3725-1S. Record 2 (sides 2 and 15) - Side 2 has three minor scratches and one noticeable scratch on the first song. The matrix no# is G2N H3711-1S. Side 15 has minor scuffs and one noticeable scratch. The matrix no# is G2N H3724-1S. Record 3 (sides 3 and 14) - Side 3 has minor scuffs and three noticeable scratches. The matrix no# is G2N G3712-1S. Side 14 has minor scuffs and two noticeable scratches. The matrix no# is G2N H3723-1S. Record 4 (sides 4 and 13) has a 1/8" crack in the intro wax to the first song (both sides). Side 4 has minor scuffs and scratches plus two white marks in the label. The matrix no# is G2N H3713-1S. Side 13 has minor scuffs and scratches. The matrix no# is G2N H3722-1S. Record 5 (sides 5 and 12) - Side 5 has several noticeable scratches mainly on the first song. The matrix no# is G2N H3714-1S. Side 12 has several noticeable scratches on the first song (appear to be the result of the needle). There is a slight "dish". The matrix no# is G2N H3721-1S. Record 6 (sides 6 and 11) - Side 6 has two noticeble scratches. The matrix no# is G2N H3715-1S. Side 11 has five noticeable scratches. The matrix no# is G2N H3720-1S. Record 7 (sides 7 and 10) - Side 7 has eight noticeable scuffs. The matrix no# is G2N H3716-1S. Side 10 has normal wear. The matrix no# is G2N H319-1S. Record 8 (sides 8 and 9) - Side 8 has ten noticeable scratches. The matrix no# is G2N H3717-1S. Side 9 has normal wear. The matrix number is G2N H3718-1S. I do not play my records. Therefore I do not play-grade them, but overall, I would consider the records to be in VG condition.
