ELVIS PRESLEY - “A FOOL SUCH AS I / I NEED YOUR LOVE TONIGHT” (47-7506), A FIRST PRESSING FROM 1959 WITH THE SUPER RARE "ELVIS SAILS" PICTURE SLEEVE! RECORD: GOOD with decent gloss for the grade. There is an angled scratch on "I Need Your Love Tonight" that can be felt with the fingertip, although it does not appear to be all that intrusive. It is possible that this Indianapolis pressing could play without skipping, but I cannot guarantee that. of course, being in the grade of "Good", there are many other additional scuffs and scratches. The labels show some light wear but no writing or stickers.
SLEEVE: VG- RARE Picture Sleeve with the "Elvis Sails" E.P. promotion on the back side! There are no staple holes, tape or writing anywhere on this sleeve. However, there is an edge split of approximately 4 inches (please see all photos) as well as a glue-repaired edge split on to the opposite side. This glue repair resulted in that edge being partially closed off for record entry. Any attempt to try to separate it to normal spacing could result in the tearing of the sleeve; definitely not recommended! A 1-inch tear is noticed right between the "RCA" and "Victor" along the top. A 2-1/2 to 3-inch lower edge split is also observed. As mentioned, this is a very rare picture sleeve. To provide an idea just as to how rare it is, Jerry Osborne assigns a value of $500 for a Near Mint example in his "Presleyana VIII".
