ELVIS PRESLEY – A LEGENDARY PERFORMER, VOLUME 1 (CPL1-0341) RARE LABEL VARIETY!
RECORD: VG++ (EXC) with beautiful glossy surfaces! There are just some extremely light paper sleeve scuffs that will have no effect on the audible performance. The rare “Dog Near Top” Black labels are NM. This album was originally released in January of 1974 and literally millions were produced and are therefore, extremely common. Even in top condition, those sell for peanuts any day of the week. However, these later reissues with this label variety are highly elusive. Contrary to the information in “Presleyana VIII” (Jerry Osborne), it is my opinion that these were pressed in 1982-83 in small numbers, along with the ultra-rare “Dog Near Top” Black label copies of “Elvis In Concert” (check your “Presleyana VIII” on the value for that issue!). This album that we have here can be seen on page 166.
COVER: VG++ (EXC) thin-stock with “RE” to the lower left corner on the back side. Some minor wrinkling is noticed on this cover from handling. There is no die-cut hole on the front as was done on earlier copies. The original plain white inner sleeve is included.
