MEGARARE RCA Records very first High Fidelity “New Ortophonic” Mono press released, made and distributed in Spain in 1960 by RCA Española, S.A. (RCA Records Spain), catalog number 3-10096, with hand etched matrix numbers 3FOZW-0414-4S A A in Side A and 3FOZW-0415-1S A A in Side B, with black/silver RCA Records labels, with small RCA logo inside a circle, no “dog”. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile for all fans, lovers and collectors of Elvis Presley!!!

“Are You Lonesome To-Night?” was the big hit Elvis Presley after to leave the Army in 1960 and the same year it was released in Spain with a full laminated flipback Picture Sleeve. In Spain front cover keeps strictly the original artwork, with the picture of Elvis and song titles written in English only, the only difference is in the red circle RCA logo at top right corner. Back cover is totally different, it has the list of 5 other singles and EP’s by Elvis released in Spain. If you know this single you will have noticed that in Spain the mouth is in the right edge, in original US issue the mouth is in top edge. In labels the song titles are written in English only, with full credits for songwriters and The Jordanaires. In this single, the song title is respected in the original form “… TO-NIGHT?”, as you must know it’s very frequent to find “TONIGHT?”. So, here you have the chance to own this single in the very first press released in Spain, with unique cover!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

The cover is in great VG+ or even EX- condition, clean and clear, with some creases, ring marks, some little rips, one of them about 1,5cm in back cover, with moderate wear, more evident in edges and corners, with faint tears in front cover and a little 1cm or less seam split in the spine, but still complete and solid. The record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many scuffs and light hairlines caused for the contact between the record and the cardboard, which don’t affect play. Labels are in great VG+ or EX-condition the Side A, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear, but I’ve had to downgrade it because of the big sticker someone glued with the number “2435” (inside the cover it’s another rounded sticker with the same number, I guess it was glued on cover, but I don’t see any residue in cover, check the sticker in the pictures I added), and in EX or EX+ condition the Side B, totally clean and clear, with only spindle hole wear. The sound is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a light background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with very minimal occasional soft crackles which are almost impossible to hear if you are not looking for them, which of course don’t affect the experience to listen and enjoy this single from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE PRESS released in Spain, with a nice Picture Sleeve in great condition and the record still with an amazing sound quality after 56 years which won’t disappoint anyone!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
