Description
ELVIS’ CHRISTMAS ALBUM - ORIGINAL SOUTH AFRICAN ELVIS PRESLEY LP – BLACK RCA VICTOR LABEL A31.118
Originally issued 1958 – Similar to US version (LPM 1951) with Army pictures on back cover but with different unique South African catalogue / issue number. Apart from the different issue number there is no mention of this being a South African issue, except that the cover is printed by “Swan Press” as were all South African Elvis LP’s of this period.
One of a number of ORIGINAL 1950s, 60s and 70s SOUTH AFRICAN Elvis albums I am listing in the next few weeks.
The condition of the disc both visually and listening quality is EX+. See scans for pictures of the labels – very little spindle wear. Exceptionally clean / clear label. I have listened to both sides of the album before listing and there is a small amount of background noise / crackle but not too bad (I would say VG+)
The condition of the laminated cover is VG. There are no cracks or tears in the laminate. The back of the cover is clean with no creasing but with a slight amount of age mottling. The spine of the LP is VG with no splits or tears etc.
The record comes in a polythene plastic bag – I’m not sure if this is the original sleeve issued at the time or a more recent replacement.
Currently being sold by a US dealer at $400 and by a UK dealer at £70
Other Rare South African LP’s listed – please see my other listings.
