ELVIS PRESLEY – CLAMBAKE (AFL1-2565) RARE COVER VARIETY SHOWING THE PRINTED UPDATED CATALOG PREFIX!

RECORD: NM- with beautiful, glossy surfaces! There are just some minor paper sleeve scuffs that will have no effect on the audible performance. This record shows the catalog number as APL1-2565. According to Jerry Osborne’s “Presleyana VIII” (2017), no records were pressed showing the AFL1 prefix. However, it has just been brought to my attention, along with photographic evidence by another eBay member, that there were indeed AFL1 copies of the record as well! These records should be regarded as being extremely rare and a true prize for the Elvis collector. By 1977 ALL RCA Victor records were being pressed at the Indianapolis pressing plant. This Original Soundtrack Recording was originally released in September of 1967 as LPM/LSP-3893 and includes the hit singles, “Big Boss Man / You Don’t Know Me” and “Guitar Man”.

COVER: VG+ with a horizontal cut running in from the open-end side of this “RE-4” cover. A seam split of approximately 2 inches is noticed at the lower edge. Some light ring wear is observed on both sides as well as some sporadic edge and corner tip wear. There is some old sticker residue present at the upper left corner on the front. Note the updated catalog number of “AFL1-2565” on the front and back as well as the “RE-4” on both sides! These are very rarely encountered in any condition! The original “ELVIS” (54F) inner sleeve is included. A few tears and edge splits are noticed.
