ELVIS PRESLEY "ELVIS" U.S RCA LPM 1382. RARE 17S ALTERNATE "OLD SHEP" PRESSING.
I am thinning out my lifetime collection of records, cds, books, vintage clothing, vintage household items etc etc over the coming months (or years!). I have been collecting all things 1950s for nearly 40 years & a lot of it has to go … to make room for new acquisitions! Please check out my “other items” for more great stuff.

A rarely seen Lp on this side of the Atlantic in most cases but in this rare form it's a really hard find as it is one of the few pressings that features the alternate take (5) of "OLD SHEP"-
Copies with matrix numbers G2WP-7208-15S, G2WP-7208-16S (Canadian pressing), G2WP-7208-17S, or G2WP-7208-19S stamped on Side 2 (Side 1 doesn’t matter) are likely candidates to contain the alternate take of Old Shep which contain an added word in two different phrases. Words in upper case are added in the alternative take: “As the years fast did roll, Old Shep he grew old AND his eyes were fast growing dim.” and “He came to my side and he looked up at me, and HE laid his old head on my knee.”
This record was clearly very much enjoyed back in the day, which sadly renders it in pretty poor shape today, with tape to the top of the sleeve & the top split apart. The record labels show pretty well other than some spindle marks & the record itself has plenty of surface marks throughout & plays with plenty of crackle. For the completist perhaps, that has to have an ALTERNATE OLD SHEP copy?
