ELVIS PRESLEY – ELVIS’ GOLD RECORDS, VOL. 4 (LPM-3921) MEGA-RARE MONAURAL COPY!

 

RECORD: VG+ with clean, glossy surfaces! There are many very light scuffs present on both sides, though nothing that can be felt with the fingertip. This Mega-Rare Monaural, Indianapolis pressing was fully tested and it sounded beautiful with great high fidelity! There were perhaps two subtle “ticks” detected during play but nothing that would be considered as distracting. The labels are simply beautiful with only a few very light spindle marks noticed. This album was released in February of 1968 when Monaural (or “Mono”) was being phased out in favor of Stereo. Therefore, far fewer copies were being pressed and many of those were distributed to radio stations for airplay purposes. This is indeed a rare find! The matrix numbers end with 1S/5S.

COVER: VG+ Conservatively graded. Many would grade this cover as VG++ (EXC), but I choose to remain conservative in my assessment. There are no seam splits, tape, writing or staple holes anywhere on this cover. However, there is some wear to the upper and lower corners at the spine where some tiny tears have occurred. Some ring wear or surface scuffing is present, mainly on the front. The upper and lower edges show minimal spots of wear. The original “ELVIS’ Great LP Catalog” (40C) inner sleeve is included. The Near Mint value for this item is $2,000 in “Presleyana VIII” (Jerry Osborne – 2017, page 111). Insurance on this item will be paid by the seller and the buyer will pay only ($5.38) for basic shipping!
