ELVIS PRESLEY – ELVIS IS BACK! (LPM-2231) SECOND PRESSING with “GIRL NEXT DOOR WENT A’WALKING”
RECORD: VG with clean, glossy surfaces. Some scattered, light scuffs and scratches are present which cannot be felt with the fingertip. This Hollywood pressing was fully tested and there were no skips or repeats detected. However, there is some audible static heard throughout play. This is either a late First Pressing or a Second Pressing, depending on how you look at it. The earliest pressings show Side 2, Track 4 as “The Girl Next Door”, while this copy shows the song as “Girl Next Door Went A’Walking”. This album was originally released in April of 1960. The matrix numbers end with 1S/12S.
COVER: VG+ with a 3-inch piece of glossy tape repairing a short right-hand seam split. On the inside of the gate fold cover in that area, is a noticeable paper pull. Aside from this, there is a small amount of edge and corner wear. Surface scuffing is at a minimum! This is the earliest of the second cover variety. The factory-made nail hole remains as was on the first cover variety on the front, top-center. Also, the record is inserted into the front of the cover (civilian clothes side) and not in the “Elvis in Army uniform” as is seen on the later covers. The track list is now printed directly on the cover and not on a Yellow Sticker. “RE” is to the lower left corner. The original “RCA Victor” inner sleeve is included.
