The time has come for me to thin down my vast collection of Elvis Presley albums and singles as I need to minimize my holdings. This week, the Black Label, “Dog Near Top” reissues with the white “AFL1” spine stickers are featured. Some of these stickers were placed on LSP covers whose “true” AFL1/AFM1 status (on the actual record’s labels) never came to fruition!

RECORD: MINT and still sealed within the cover! The record will be an LPM prefix copy, most likely with the black labels and “Dog Near Top”. A “true AFM1” pressing of this record does NOT exist! RCA Victor began their re-numbering project around the time of Elvis’ passing in 1977 and the majority of his LP’s were included in the prefix change from LSP to AFL1 (or AFM1 in this case), leaving the actual number that follows it as original. This is one of the records that fell through the cracks and did not see a numbering change until the “Best Buy Series” number AYM1-3894 was assigned in early 1981.
COVER: MINT and completely sealed within the original shrink wrap! The white AFM1-4088 wrap-around spine sticker is seen beneath the shrink. A trivial amount of wear is seen on the lower right corner tip where it had broken through the shrink wrap.

All records are shipped in the correct cardboard folding mailers with the record separated from the cover, then inserted together within a clear polyvinyl sleeve, then sandwiched between two sheets of cardboard filler pads within the mailer to ensure optimum protection.
