Description

ELVIS PRESLEY "GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS!" Original U.S. 1962 RCA Victor monaural soundtrack album. Mono LPM-2621. M-/VG+.

This 13 track Elvis movie soundtrack album had some great rock & roll songs from Otis Blackwell & Leiber & Stoller as well as some good ballads & songs tailor-made to the sea-worthy theme of the film from Elvis' usual team of songwriters. Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller contributed the title track "Girls! Girls! Girls!" which had charted by the Coasters in 1961 while Otis Blackwell wrote "We're Coming In Loaded" & the 1962 #2 hit "Return In Sender" exclusively for the movie. Elvis was in a mellow mood on the ballads "Where Do You Come From" & "A Boy Like Me, A Girl Like You" while the rest of the LP contained songs such as "Song Of The Shrimp" & "Thanks to The Rolling Sea". This is the original 1962 monaural pressing with the black "dog on top" label. The back cover has 2 smaller color photos of Elvis from the film as well as color minis of other hit soundtrack albums from Elvis- "Loving You", "King Creole", "G.I. Blues" & "Blue Hawaii".

Cover nearly rates a MINT with only negligible edge wear on the top & bottom & a slight crease on the right, front but no writing or split seams. Very presentable cover still rates near MINTcondition. Record plays great with a few faint fingernail scratches on both sides that do not affect play. Therefore the record is VERY GOOD+. The black "Dog On Top" RCA  labels still look great although a few light spindle marks are visible on side 1. They have the "Long 33 1/3 Play" in the bottom center proving that this is an original mono pressing from 1962.
