A rare chance to obtain a beautiful copy of this iconic release in it’s original format. This is as near a perfect copy of a 50 year old disc as you are likely to find and it‘s a 1st pressing of this 1958 disc. With the first edition of the cover of which there were three.

The disc has no surface marks and still has it’s new sheen, audibly the disc plays perfect (Garrard 301/SME) albeit with a small amount of surface noise, and still packs punch and presence. Both labels are excellent with no visible spindle wear ( it has never been played on an auto-changer) although it hasn’t always been played on the Garrard as I had the disc some 6 years before the Garrard, The disc has been in my collection since new

The sleeve as stated is the first edition with the one photo on the reverse and not the three smaller ones on the left, which were added later. It is complete with the photo album which has eight full page photos and one page with a ¾ page photo and five sleeve reproductions, the inside of the back cover contains the sleeve notes which were moved to the back on the later versions when the book was discontinued. The sleeve has been edged with sellotape as was the custom in the 50s before the protective PVC covers were available.

I worked in the record business from 1963 to 1986 and over that period amassed a large collection, Most of which were only played once to put on tape using a Garrard 301 turntable and SME tone arm and are therefore all in Pristine condition.
