ELVIS GREEN LABEL DEMO
TREAT ME NICE (RCA 1028)
As Elvis collectors know, all of these early green label demos pre-1960 (pressed in the UK by Decca Record Company) are in short supply and thus very collectable.
However, for some reason, this one - a triangular centred, single-sided disc, the B-side of 'Jailhouse Rock' - is particularly hard to find. It was the third Elvis demo single to be pressed by Decca in late 1957, early 1958.
This particular copy happens to have the catalogue (release) number - RCA 1028 - stamped on it though the other copy I have doesn't have this feature. The time code (2.02) is also written on by hand though this was certainly done at the factory as the writing is exactly the same as others I have in my collection.
As regards its condition, I would describe it as 'Good minus', as it has a number of marks on the vinyl. I cannot comment on how it sounds as I do not have the capability to play it. However, I imagine that most collectors have no desire to play it anyway. The label is in good condition with no additional marks on it.
