Description

Elvis Presley - Heartbreak Hotel. Original UK Single Sided 78rpm 10" "B.F. Wood" Music Publishers Acetate. Well, whereas the recently sold Acetate/Test Disc had R.C.A. VICTOR and corresponding Number, this is the H.M.V. version (POP.182) and it looks to me that the label is by the same hand. Condition – not particularly scratched-up but does have surface marks. First third quite quiet, then it get crackly, but not loud, and no jumping or skipping. Has a ‘frosted’ look, like someone’s tried to clean it with the wrong material and taken the sheen off. Label is clean, light ‘browning’ (see picture). The Emidisc text on ‘side 2’ is clear, and has the numbers 16 & 55 printed on it. It has intermittent circular (going around the disc) residue, which I think is hardened glue. There are 7 or 8 bits where the substance has come away, taking the lacquer with it, revealing the metallic internal disc (photo as best as I can). Otherwise just surface marks.
