Description

"How Great Thou Art"/"His Hand In Mine" 74-0130 1969 U.S. RCA 45 w/Picture Sleeve MINT!

This single was issued for Easter, 1969. It features the title tracks from the two Elvis' gospel albums that had been released up to that trime. "How Great Thou Art" was awarded a Grammy in 1967 for Best Inspirational recording- the only Grammy Elvis ever received. This song had long been one of Elvis' favorite hymns & his rendition proved to be a powerful recording & later a featured song in his live act. "His Hand In MIne" from the 1961 LP of the same name was a Mosie Lister composition originally popularized by the Statesmen Quartet featuring one of Elvis' favorite singers, Jake Hess on lead vocals (he was later a founding member of the Imperials who backed Elvis on his late 60's Las Vegas gigs). The black vinyl record is in pristine MINT condition. It has the orange late 60's stock RCA Victor labels.  The sleeve, featuring 2 photos from the '68 Comeback TV Special, is also in fabulous, rarely handled condition-the only flaw is a barely noticeable crease along the top left edge of the "His Hand In MIne" side. Overall condition M-/M.
