Description
This is an ORIGINAL 1956 U.S. RCA VICTOR RECORDS 45 RPM RECORD (NOT A REPRO OR REISSUE!!) WITH ORIGINAL COMPANY SLEEVE containing the tracks 'I Got A Woman'/'I'm Counting On You', two of the sides from Elvis Presley's first 1956 RCA Victor LP. It is RCA Victor Records catalog number 47-6637. In order to capitalize on Elvis' massive popularity when he first rose to prominence in 1956, RCA Victor issued the material from Elvis' first RCA album in a number of different formats - On LP, on EPs of various configurations, and on a series of six consecutively numbered 45s, of which this 45 is the first of the six. As most people purchased Elvis' first album on LP rather than the separate 45s, this 45 as well as all of the others in this series are much rarer and harder to find than the ones containing Elvis' early hit singles. Condition of this 45 is somewhat better than is usually seen - Condition is a high VG+/VG++ with all original gloss and a small amount of light surface marks, none of which can be felt or will affect play. Both labels have a little bit of contact wear and a little wear around the center hole as can be seen in my accompanying image, no other real flaws. RCA Victor company sleeve has some wrinkles and some wear along the edges and around the center hole, and a couple of very small splits. This historic 45 would be an essential addition to any Elvis Presley or rockabilly record collection !
