ELVIS PRESLEY "KISSIN' COUSINS" Original U.S. 1964 RCA Victor monaural soundtrack album. Mono LPM-2894. M-/M-.
As the British Invasion was sweeping the U.S. music scene in 1964, the "King Of Rock & Roll" was locked into making 3 films a year. "Kissin' Cousins" was a musical comedy where Elvis played a dual role- the dark haired Josh & the blonde Jody. Of course, they both get their respective girls- Cynthia Pepper for Josh & the future "Batgirl" Yvonne Craig for Jody. Highlights are the "Kissin' Cousins" title track which went to #12 in February, 1964 & the Doc Pomus/Mort Shuman "bonus song" "(It's A) Long Lonely Highway" which "bubbled under" at #112 when belatedly released as a single the following year. The rest of the songs from Elvis' team of songwriters are tailor-made for the film with titles such as "Smokey Mountain Boy" & "Barefoot Ballad". This LP is the original 1964 monaural pressing with the black "dog on top" label.

Cover looks great with only negligible corner wear & very slight shelf wear. There is a small "x" (written in pencil) in front of "(It's A) Lng Lonely Highway" on the back but no split seams. Very strong cover is in near MINT condition. Record plays great with a few very minor surface scuffs on side 1, track 2 that do not affect play. Record is graded at near MINT. The black "Dog On Top" RCA labels look great. They have "Mono" printed in the bottom center proving that this is an original monaural pressing from 1964.
