Description
This is an auction for a very rare EP by, Elvis Presley, Love Me Tender. This is a soundtrack EP taken from The 20th Century Fox Cinemascope Production.
This was released by HMV Records in 1957 and has catalogue number 7EG8199. Please check the pictures for clarification.

Condition: The original picture sleeve comes in fine condition, probably the best I have seen thus far. Very light buffing can be seen to the very corners and mouth edge, this has caused two tiny patches of lamination peeling, one on each side. A few tiny lamination creases and a couple of dirt marks can be seen under close examination. Lastly I would say that the top flipback edge has a couple of very light scuff marks, possibly caused when lowering into a box and caught there. Spine, top and bottom edge are in fine condition with no buffing, No tears or bends and very unusually, next to no discolouring. A fine crisp sleeve that looks close to new and is graded at Near Mint. A couple of the very light dirt marks seen on the picture have wiped completely clean making this sleeve even better than pictured.
Both labels look clean and near new, Under the closest of examinations a few tiny spindle trails can be seen on each side. The centre hole does show some signs of wear on side two, with side one having very little. No finger or dirt marks, the four pronged round-centre is attatched perfectly.
The vinyl retains its new shine and looks clean in normal light, One long feather scratch is just visible on track one of side one and one tiny scratch is visible on side two, track two. These are completely non-audible. Under closer examination some tiny feather scratches and some dust marks can be seen. These are mostly situated running in from the very edge of side one, with side two certainly being less played and hence having very few feather scratches. I have play tested this through both sides and found all four tracks played through fine, no skips, jumps etc but track one of side one does have some feckling heard in the background of this track. This feckling clears as this side progresses to only just be heard occasionally. The audio, as you would expect for a record that has been hardly played, is strong, loud and plays well above the feckling heard. Playing with no distortion, fading or dragging and after the some what noisy beginning of side one clears to play with very little lessening in sound quality and only the occasional crackle heard, actually mostly heard when Elvis hits his highest notes.
Side two, has a superb quiet entry and goes onto play very well indeed. This side has been played a few times at the most hence maintains its strong audio, which for the most part is completely clear. Again an occasional crackle heard and again mostly heard when Elvis hits his high notes. Playing with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever and playing with very little lessening in sound quality, this side plays at near mint.
Lastly I have not given this a clean, So possibly expect some of the feckling heard to be removed once done.
As this stands this record is graded at Near Mint / VG, with three tracks being closer to, if not, near mint. Down-graded for the feckling at the beginning of side one.
Superb sleeve and fine looking record, hardly played and collectors copy.
