ELVIS PRESLEY

“ON STAGE – FEBRUARY 1970”

RARE original VICTOR/RCA Records very first STEREO press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1970 by RCA S.A. Electrónica De Grabaciones Maestras from RCA Records, catalog number LPM-4362-X, with hand etched matrix numbers LPM-4362-A EB-CD A in Side 1 and LPM-4362-B EB-CD in Side 2, with orange/black RCA Victor labels, with white RCA Victor lettering. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“ON STAGE” was originally released in 1970 and the same year we got this album released in Chile, but like in so many cases of the period we got an UNIQUE COVER. Cover is made of an only piece of thin cardboard, so 3 sides are open, with sheets of paper as front and back covers attached to the cardboard in the mouth edge and kept together for an outer plastic bag. In Chile front and back cover keep the original artwork with the only difference in Chile they added a subtitle “February, 1970” in front cover. All text in cover is in English only. In labels the album title and tracklist are also in English only with credits in Side 2 by “ELVIS PRESLEY WITH THE IMPERIALS QUARTET”. But the most interesting fact to notice is that in Chile this record was released with MONO sound!!! And this VERY FIRST PRESS has an error in the catalog number they pinted in front cover!!! Yes, they glued a little black papers with the words “MONO” and “LPM-4362-X” to the cover, because obviously they had printed a wrong catalog number, maybe, I guess, “Stereo”? So, here you have the chance to own this historical record with an UNIQUE COVER and with MONO SOUND!!! WOW!!! Another great FIND!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in VG or VG+ condition for both sides, clean, complete, no marks or names written, no ring marks, no blemishes, only general wear at the mouth edge and some creases, more evident at top right corner of front cover. The record is in strong G+ or VG- condition, glossy and clean, but with loads of scuffs, hairlines and scratches, which could make you consider at first sight that the record won’t play properly, but it does, it plays without problem. Labels are in EX or EX+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with no marks or writings, only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is the best part, it’s in great VG or VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile) and constant light crackles, more evident in the silent parts between tracks, with soft occasional pops and clicks, which don’t really affect the experience to listen this record. Overall, sure this record isn’t for audiophiles or Minty minds, but it keeps a glossy clean look even though it’s evident this record has seen many many many plays and it keeps a very decent and respectable sound quality from the beginning to the end and after 45 years, with no distortions or repetitions at all, which doesn’t disappoint anyone!!! And keep in mind this album has an UNIQUE COVER, it’s a MONO PRESS and it has the UNIQUE ERRORS already informed in front cover!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
