THIS IS A BIG ONE! The LP that changed music forever.
My personal copy of Elvis' original 1956 release of his very first iconic LP in the USA and the world. Not only this but also it's the initial run of the LP, the pink and green lettering is pale, later runs had a more vivid colouring.
Not only this but it is the rarest 'Rockaway' pressing. Most were pressed in Indianapolis but some were pressed at the Rockaway plant in New Jersey. This is shown by the label layout, plus the runoff number plus the 'R' in the runout identifying the Rockaway plant. See the picture.
The vinyl has the expected superficial wear for an album nearly 70 years old but plays through very well. I've listened to it and there is a little crackle in places but no ticks, clicks nor skips. The music is very clear even on the quieter tracks, always enjoyable, plays very nicely.
The original sleeve surface has a little wear but is clean with no writing or marks. As with many USA card sleeve LPs of this time there is a neat split at the top of the sleeve. See the pictures.
This is one of the most sought after Elvis LPs and this particular pressing rarely comes onto the market.
