ELVIS PRESLEY- Here we have Elvis' very 1st record album.Original 1st pressing made in 1956. LPM-1254. Self Titled. The cover has the pale pink letters. later versions had the dark pink and red letters. The song Just Because has the P.D. credit. (see explanation below)* The cover has shelf wear, tape on seams The record has the lowest dead wax number G2PP-1283-1S There are a few light scratches, no deep ones, labels are clean and bright.
*Elvis Presley, the album that started it all. This iconic records influence can still be felt today. Elvis was one of the top earners in show business last year.
The first release of this record credited the song writing to the song "Just Because" to P.D. - Public Domain. You can only imagine how surprised the authors were to find they weren't able to get on the gravy train.
The song writing credits were quickly changed on subsequent pressings. The record guides don't mention this fact. But serious record collectors look for this issue.
