AN NICE ORIGINAL COPY OF THE ROCKABILLY CLASSIC SUN 223, 'MYSTERY TRAIN / IFORGOT TO REMEMBER TO FORGET' BY ELVIS PRESLEY. THIS COPY WAS ISSUED IN 1955, THE FIFTH AND FINAL SUN RELEASE BY A NEW SINGER CALLED ELVIS PRESLEY.
The record retains a high gloss with just a few surface marks, the playing surface would grade vg+ visually. It plays through beautifully from start to end of both sides, no skips, no jumps, with a very sensitive light needle and with just about no background noise and an extremely clear strong sound, at least vg+ sound. If you want a great sounding Sun original then this 45 makes for a super listening experience with the authentic sound that emerged over 50 years ago. To be able to listen to the record like this is a bonus to actually owning an original Elvis Sun 45. The only notable feature is some roughness to the outer rim of the 45.
The labels have very little wear and are extremely presentable with no stickers, just a very faint pencil name which has been rubbed out to the upper right of 'Mystery Train'. You can see this on the scans. Overall a nice copy of this historic 45.
This 45 has the trail-offs marked 45-U-156-X 20 and 45-U 157-X 20 with the 8mm gap before the 72 as it should be for an original. I've held plenty of Sun 45s and this is absolutely right. Mystery Train did not have the three 'push marks' present on the earlier 4 Sun 45s.
