Description

This is Sun label record #209, 10-inch diameter, 78 rpm. Side-A has “That’s All Right” with the hand-engraved “U-128-2  ok  #72” on the vinyl near the label. Side-B has “Blue Moon of Kentucky” with the hand-engraved “U-129-2  #72  ok” on the vinyl near the label.

I am not an expert in antique records, but I am as certain as I can be from the research I have done that this record is an original and not a counterfeit. I bought this record many years ago from a friend of mine who obtained it from his parents’ collection.

The condition of the record in my estimation is “Very Good” meaning that it is not warped and has a minimum of visual imperfections as would be expected after light usage. I have not played this record on a turntable so I cannot comment on sound quality. The record sleeve is nondescript but seems to be original.

I have set a low reserve $300 but believe its value is quite a bit higher based on a Near Mint value of $1200 to $1600 listed in “The Official Price Guide to Elvis Presley Records and Memorabilia, Second Edition,” page 102, copyright 1998 by Jerry Osborne.

Background Information:  This record was the first of five singles of Elvis recordings released on the Sun label. It was recorded July 5-6, 1954 and released on July 19, 1954. For more information refer to Wikipedia – “Elvis Presley’s Sun recordings.”
