Description

Rare (in condition as truly excellent as this), original UK 1965 7" MONO EP :

ELVIS PRESLEY- TICKLE ME

On the RCA VICTOR record label, catalogue number RCX 7173

Matrix Numbers : Side 1 - S2PH - 9067- 1C,  Side 2 - S2PH - 9068 - 3C

with STAMPERS "1" and "C" and "1" and "A" on sides 1 and 2 respectively

SIDE 1 : 1. I Feel That I Have Known You Forever   2. Night Rider 3. Slowly But Surely

SIDE 2 : 1. Dirty Dirty Feeling    2. Put The Blame On Me

The record has been played only a few times (and I really do mean a "few" times) and the vinyl is in virtually flawless condition - completely flat with no hint of warping whatsoever, the original sheen and beautiful glossy shine is still virtually 100%  intact, even the start-up dead wax areas are gleaming (sometimes these are the problem areas on vinyl, having "dulled" and suffered from handling blemishes resulting in "crackle" intro...none of that here at all). In fact I'm struggling  to detect any faults whatsoever with the apearance and condition of the vinyl...remarkable  for a piece of vinyl some 48 years of age!

The labels are also near pristine, with just a single very light spindle trail on side 1 adjacent to the centre hole which I have managed to capture "as it is" on the accompanying side 1 label photo. Other than that...immaculate.

The quality of the audio is wonderful :  MONO at it's very best I - I have listened avidly to each side and I honestly find it difficult to fault. Just brilliant mid 60'sElvis!

Comes with original MacNeill outer sleeve, which is near perfect : beautifully "fresh" with vibrant colours on the laminated front  side, with no scuffing (not even on the edges) a beautiful spine, and not even any age discolouration - the only faults being a crease located at the front bottom left hand corner (see photos) and a 1.5cm pencil line of light laminate lifting 2 cm to the right of Elvis' collar on the front side.

A wonderful copy of a timeless Elvis classic. Considering that this is now 48 years old I doubt that there are many of the original copies in better condition than this.

A bit about myself - I have been collecting vinyl for over 45 years and have amassed a huge and diverse record collection. I am now selling a number of my cherished records in order to help fund my forthcoming retirement and to help optimise space. Take a look at my other ebay items - many of the records that I am selling are highly sought after by serious collectors. You should also be aware of my 100% feedback status and can be rest assured that in the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason then just contact me and I will do a full refund without quibble. Enjoy your purchase - Richard

My record grading adheres to the “Record Collector” guide, which has established a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records. These indicate the amount of wear and tear the disc, sleeve, and other items (such as lyric inserts) have been subject to and the condition that they are in at present. The seven standard condition categories, and descriptions of what each one means, are listed below:

Mint

The records itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items, such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

Very Good

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents are torn, stained and/or defaced

Poor

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents are badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
