THIS IS ARGUABLY THE RECORD TO OWN, THE HOLY GRAIL OF ROCK'N'ROLL. AN ORIGINAL COPY OF THE ROCKABILLY CLASSIC SUN 209 'THAT'S ALL RIGHT/ BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY' BY ELVIS PRESLEY. THIS COPY WAS ISSUED IN 1954, THE VERY FIRST SUN RELEASE BY A NEW SINGER CALLED ELVIS PRESLEY. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THE AMERICAN PUBLIC WOULD HAVE HEARD ELVIS ON RECORD, THE AUTHENTIC SOUND.
The record retains a good sheen with plenty of light scratches . I gave it a spin on my dancette and it plays through from start to end of both sides with some low background noise/ Sun 'hiss' but the authentic sound of the songs coming through very clearly, the hiss being more subdued than on some other copies I've heard.
The 'That's All Right ' label has a mark to the bottom left on the label, the 'Blue Moon' label has a slight mark and very faint writing and a little ring wear from normal use. This 45 would have been originally been sold in a plain brown sleeve, one comes with the record. You can see these on the scans.
This 45 has the trail-offs u-128-45 72 and u-129-45 72 with the 7mm gap before the 72 as it should be for an original. The 'push marks' are present on both labels. I've held plenty of Sun 45s and this is absolutely right.
Suns 209 and 215 are the hardest to find, Sun 209 is particularly sought after as it was Elvis' very first record and as a result copies do not come onto the market very often.
