selling ELVIS RIAA GOLD 45 RECORD award PRESENTED TO --RCA records for the sale of one million records ----- of the hit title " way down " -- this is a very rare item. the only other award like this would be hanging in GRACELAND -- in memphis, tennessee ! I believe this is what they call "floater style"
I bought this a few years ago from a woman who was also selling the outfit " ELVIS " wore at his famous " 68 special " tour that was televised ....
she advised me, she had purchased this award from a top RCA executive.
I have only seen one other award like this ON EBAY and it was for the record " DON'T " sold by the same seller.
the photos appearing below are from a cheap digital camera taken by an "idiot" who knows nothing about photography. HAPPY BIDDING ....

note: a member just recently asked me about one million records sold equaling a gold award - which I didn't know but thought 1,000,000 records equalied a gold award, when in reality he was correct only 500,000 are required. however since he was referring to the (brass) RIAA certified sales award plate, template or whatever you call it, it reads --- presented to -- RCA RECORDS -- to commemorate the sale of more than -- one million copies of the -- RCA RECORDS -- single record -- " WAY DOWN " one final note -- if anyone can explain why this isn't a platinum record let me know and I will post that information as well, maybe it's because it was in 1977 ??
